I am an alchemist. My ingredients are color, temperature and time.
I’ve invented a method to fuse a veneer of glass onto a ceramic tile surface. Mixing together industrial raw materials with artistic sensibilities, the results are a chromatic migration of color, with an explosion of luminescent hues and patterns along the tile surface.
My mother was a potter and I’ve been working with clay since a child. Have a degree in industrial design, the profession of inventing/designing mass produced products, with a career divided between being a consultant collaborating with industry and my own entrepreneurial endeavors. The diversity of projects comes from a hands-on appreciation of materials & processes that embrace sustainable solutions to design/craft/manufacture objects with results to enhance the function, form, and user/viewer experience.
My design beliefs are that objects have greater intrinsic value when they are handmade and they should always be brightly colored.
I am the recipient of an Arts 3C grant from Regional Arts & Culture Council of Portland, 2024
I ride my bike in Portland, OR.
